The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed that the election of the authorities of Guiana Essequiba is the way to ratify sovereignty over this territory.

“The path is political understanding, political dialogue, the ratification of peace as an exercise of national life and the ratification of our constitutional right,” Rodríguez said after exercising his right to vote in Caracas.

Regarding the statements of the Guyanese government regarding the electoral process, the Vice President reiterated that “the only country that has legitimate titles over the Essequibo is Venezuela. It's like that in history. The rest is a plot to steal the territory of Guiana Essequiba, a plot in which the ancient British Empire participated together with the United States to steal our territory for its immense wealth”.

However, he emphasized that “today the Venezuelan people are ratifying the path we took in the referendum on the Essequibo, which is the legitimacy of our right, the ownership of our right, which are inalienable and that must be understood by the authorities of Guyana, who act less and less as an authority in their country and increasingly as serving them as employees of the Exxon Mobil.”

The senior official of the Bolivarian Government called for national union, “as we know it is a feeling of the Venezuelan people, to defend our territory. The territory that we inherited from our father Libertador Simón Bolívar and that when we were born as a Republic we were born with that territory and will remain so forever.”
