The Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (FUNDACITE) held a drip irrigation workshop for producers in Falcón state, as part of the actions carried out by the National Government to optimize agro-productive processes in Venezuelan territory.

On this occasion, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), FUNDACITE experts attended to producers from the La Bombita community, located in the Caujarao sector, Miranda municipality of the said entity.

The workshop focused on the design, installation and maintenance of a prototype of an automated drip irrigation system, with an emphasis on the implementation of technologies that optimize water use in agriculture.

Drip irrigation is an efficient technique that can increase agricultural productivity; in addition, it allows efficient water use and reduces manual labor.

During the training, led by engineers Jesús Rodríguez, Yohana Vera and Ruth Ollarves, producers understood the importance of this type of irrigation in modern agriculture, especially to address climate change.

At the end of the day, it was agreed to promote the implementation of drip irrigation systems in the local community and to organize additional workshops, to deepen specific topics such as system programming.
