The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, accompanied by the other members of the Venezuelan Parliament, held a meeting with the families of Venezuelan fishermen who have been killed by military forces in the Caribbean Sea by United States military forces.
During a press conference held this Sunday, he stressed that the identity of these relatives has been protected because they have received threats from sectors and people who do not want the reality of these events to be known.
In this regard, he indicated that the parliament will open an exhaustive investigation to determine responsibilities and the reality of these events in which people were accused of drug traffickers and murdered without being followed by a judicial procedure.
“Tomorrow we are going to bring to the National Assembly the proposal for the formation of a special commission to investigate, in depth, to investigate in depth and attend to the families of the Venezuelans murdered since September 2, for the purpose of bringing to all the multilateral organizations of the United Nations, all the corresponding multilateral organizations, also activating the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic from that commission, to clarify and establish the facts and responsibilities in these serious events that occurred in the months of September, October and November,” he stressed.
