This Friday, February 28, Father Numa Molina reported that the Ecclesiastical Hierarchy of Venezuela prevented him from attending the beatification of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández for political reasons.
“There was a political issue there, unfortunately a topic that Father Numa thinks like that, it is of this ideology, we don't want it to appear. And why do I tell you this? Because then I was excluded, I was unable to attend the beatification, I was forbidden to go live in a prayer from the La Candelaria church (...) and the Archbishop of Caracas gave the order to the parish priest of La Candelaria that Numa could not go out from there,” he reported during his participation in the program Sin Truco Ni Maña.
In that regard, he indicated that for that same reason all the work he had entrusted and was doing to carry out the canonization of the People's Saint of Venezuela was kept private.
“If I said and appeared that it was Father Numa who was promoting this, there were certain churchmen in Venezuela who were going to ruin the miracle or who were going to put an end to the miracle,” he said, noting that Cardinal Baltazar Porras was one of those who opposed him witnessing the miracle that would bring the beatification and canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández.
