The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, stressed that “the 23 de Enero parish is an example of struggle, because it is a rebel and a power of the Bolivarian Revolution.”

From Ali Primera Square, which is located in the Monte Piedad sector, he recalled that on March 26, 1994, Commander Chávez left the “Prison of Dignity in Yare”, and it was after that that he began to tour the country, and among those places, there was this square, when on April 22 of the same year, he visited the community and stood up with a view to the Mountain Barracks.

“The Eternal Commander had not been released for a month, when he passed through this symbolic place where a statue of the Venezuelan singer-songwriter Ali Primera rests and then traveled near the Miraflores Palace, Sucre Avenue, Plaza de Catia, La Silsa and La Vega,” he said.

In the same vein, the President recalled martyrs such as Daniel Davison and Marisol Varela killed and tortured by the political police of the Fourth Republic, known as the DISIP.

In addition, the National President stressed that Joel Mireles was part of that generation that had to resist the imperialists with spears, arrows and stones; thanks to an unwavering faith, in victory, it is what the Venezuelan people have today”.
