At a meeting of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, Sectorial and State chapter, representatives of the country's fishing, university and business sectors ratified their commitment to the defense of Venezuela's sovereignty and peace.
The day held at the Teresa Carreño Theater, was led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in which the spokeswoman for the Venezuelan Fisheries and Aquaculture sector, for the Anzoátegui state, Reimyris Marval, participated, who ratified the commitment of fishermen and women to continue building the country's sovereignty and peace.
He stressed that fishermen do not give in to the real threat of North American imperialism, “fishermen are breaking a myth, which has transcended our borders, that they have been afraid and that has not been the case.”
In this regard, they assured that “the fisherman has not ceased his work in our Caribbean Sea and is also now organized with our Bolivarian Coastal Militia”.
He recalled that the country's fishermen have 30 industrial vessels in the Caribbean Sea carrying out their fishing work, and more than 100 small-scale artisanal fishing boats are also on the coasts doing their productive activity.
He reported that the fishing community is organizing itself in a national program called Weaving Networks.
For his part, the rector of the University of Nueva Esparta, Jesús Alberto Ramírez, representing the country's university sector, reaffirmed that “there are no public or private (universities) here, sociological concepts, nothing. We are all here for one purpose, to deal with this feeling that we have.”
Ramírez, on behalf of the 175 rectors that make up the National Council of Universities (CNU), said that he not only attends the meeting to accompany and ratify the process of sovereignty and peace, but that they assume the commitment to defense inside and outside universities, “in each of the dependencies that it is up to us to act,” he said.
Also, for the foreign community sector in the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, Marco Manocchio Ziccardi, on behalf of the Italian-Venezuelan community and all the foreign communities established in the country, thanked Venezuela for life, and for the opportunity that the country provided to his compatriots. “May our only flag always be that of reunion and peace,” he said.
He pointed out how they were allowed to be Venezuelans, without forcing us to renounce our initial nationality. “They allowed us both. Is it possible to be this way or more generous as a people, as a nation, as a country,” he said, referring to Venezuela's welcome to foreigners,
