This Friday morning, flight number 97 of the Great Mission Back to the Homeland arrived in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with 172 compatriots returning to their homeland from the Phoenix region, Arizona, United States (USA).

The plane with the new group of returnees, consisting of 2 girls, 3 boys, 26 women and 141 men, landed at the “Simón Bolívar” International Airport in Maiquetía, where they were received by State authorities, as well as by a multidisciplinary team that guarantees their immediate incorporation into social protection and health programs, among others.

With the arrival of these Venezuelans, the number of citizens who have been repatriated free of charge and voluntarily since the reactivation of this humanitarian initiative in 2025 by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, has risen to more than 18,000.

The landing of Flight 97 comes amid obstructions resulting from the illegal closure of Venezuelan airspace, arbitrarily announced by US President Donald Trump, a measure that violates international law that still persists and seeks to reduce the nation 's mobility and connectivity, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace.
