The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, reported that flight 95 of the Plan Back to the Homeland arrived in Venezuela, bringing the number of 18,354 Venezuelan migrants who have returned freely and voluntarily to the country, thanks to the efforts of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro and the Bolivarian Government.

From Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Gil highlighted that the operation was carried out with the airline Eastern Airlines, based in the United States, whose permission to enter Venezuelan territory was requested by the North American aeronautical authorities.

He highlighted that immediately, President Maduro, through the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), granted the respective authorization so that the aircraft could enter and confirm the return of his compatriots.

He stated that Flight 95 of the Plan Return to the Homeland was at the request of the US government, thus crossing Venezuelan airspace and demonstrating that Venezuela is a territory of peace.

He emphasized that Venezuela exercises full sovereignty over its airspace, demonstrating that there is no potential that could violate this, since it is a matter of international law legally established by international organizations such as the UN and others.

In this context, he said that “this confirms the strength of the Bolivarian Revolution in its efforts and work to guarantee the integral social welfare of the People and to maintain good friendly relations with other nations of the world.”
