The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, received this Thursday, in his office in Caracas, the resident and humanitarian coordinator of the United Nations (UN) in Venezuela, Gianluca Rampolla, to deepen collaboration between the country's institutions and the highest multilateral entity.

“This effort seeks to advance economic and social development plans, always under the leadership of our people,” said the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, through a post on his Telegram channel, after meeting with the UN representative.

Venezuela develops comprehensive protection projects, in addition to the protection of the environment and climate; promoting spaces of peace, axes that the UN also addresses in regions of the world.

The South American nation is one of the founding countries of the Organization, which adopted the Charter of the United Nations as an instrument of international law and binding on member States. The document sets out the principles of international relations, from the sovereign equality of States to the prohibition of the use of force in international relations.

The country promoted the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter, which was officially launched on July 6, 2021, in New York, in order to strengthen the power of multilateralism for the global resolution of specific problems or situations. On March 17, 2023, he was formally installed in Geneva, Switzerland; an achievement of the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace.
