The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, this Tuesday, May 27, described it as a “greater ridiculousness coming from a dragged and stubborn government of gringos”, in response to the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, in which he recommended that Ecuadorian citizens not travel to Venezuela.
In this regard, Gil, on his social media accounts, published the “ridiculous” statement from the dragged government of Ecuador, stating that “the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility recommends that Ecuadorian citizens not travel to Venezuela, given the serious risk of arbitrary arrests and the lack of guarantees for due process.”
He also recalled “the unilateral decision of the Venezuelan Government to request the withdrawal of Ecuadorian consular personnel in October 2024. This situation prevents providing assistance to Ecuadorians resident or in transit in that country.”
