Foreign Minister Yván Gil comes to Colombia to participate in COP16

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, arrived this Monday in the city of Cali, in Colombia, to participate in the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity (COP16).

In a message released on his social networks, the head of the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy explained that, “at this important event, we will present Venezuela's advances, challenges and goals in the preservation of biodiversity, with a special focus on the Amazon basin.”

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister noted that, after his arrival, he held a meeting with his Colombian counterpart Luis Gilberto Murillo, “to address common issues and interests affecting our peoples.”

Colombia is the venue for the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16), which is being held from October 21 to November 1, to promote international cooperation, agree on investments to protect ecosystems and strengthen environmental policies at the global level.
