The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil Pinto, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, and the Venezuelans congratulated the Farsi people on Iran's National Day.
Through his Telegram channel, the Foreign Minister explained that “this date commemorates the Islamic Revolution of 1979, when the Iranian people overthrew the monarchical regime of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlav I and established an Islamic republic under the leadership of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, thus achieving their self-determination”.
On January 16, 1979, the Shah left Iran and went into exile, and on February 11, 1979, he succeeded in proclaiming himself the Islamic Republic of Iran, leaving behind 25 centuries of monarchy. Since then, a political system began to take shape that condenses divine sovereignty and popular will.
