Foreign Minister Yván Gil: The UN is kidnapped by bureaucrats who have made human rights a business

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil Pinto, assured that the United Nations (UN) ceased to be a space for justice and peace and has become a “market where human rights (human rights) are auctioned to the highest bidder”.

During his speech at the High-Level Segment of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council , held in Geneva-Switzerland, he specified that this “Council is mounting disinformation campaigns against Venezuela and absolute silence in the face of the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza (...) It is the height of hypocrisy “, because of this, he indicated that the multiorganism is “hijacked by bureaucrats who have made human rights a business, a weapon of political blackmail at the service of dark interests”.

In this regard, he criticized institutionalized corruption in the UN and the funding of “ ghost projects with the sole purpose of attacking sovereign governments”, and placed special emphasis on the case of USAID.

“Venezuela has been a victim of this perverse machinery, which manufactures reports with falsified data, promotes narratives designed by intelligence agencies and gives legitimacy to destabilization operations,” he said, adding that these operations have been “financed with public funds from governments that claim to be defenders of democracy, but that have fueled scams by Venezuelan fascist groups, who from abroad have lived on the plunder of assets and lies as a business ”.

Finally, he accused the administration of former President of the United States (USA), Joe Biden, of promoting a structure of economic and financial aggression , which received support from the European Union (EU).
