Foreign ministers of Venezuela and Sri Lanka reaffirm commitment to the defense of international law

The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, had a telephone contact this Friday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Foreign Employment of Sri Lanka, Vijitha Herath, to strengthen joint cooperation between the two countries.

Through his Telegram channel, Gil highlighted the “demonstrations of support by the Government of Sri Lanka for the Venezuelan people following the attack on our political and territorial sovereignty and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.”

In this regard, the diplomats reaffirmed their “commitment to the defense of international law and the strengthening of a bilateral agenda based on reciprocity and solidarity”.
