Former Pentagon advisor Douglas Macgregor warned that the increase in the United States (US) military presence in the Middle East could trigger a new war with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Through his account on the social network X, the retired colonel pointed out that “new conflicts are brewing in the Middle East. However, as the rise of U.S. military power in the region heralds a new war with Iran, how many Americans remember the consequences of previous military fiascos in Afghanistan, Korea, and Vietnam?” , he questioned.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell recently stated that the United States will deploy additional air assets, together with the Carl Vinson Aircraft Carrier Strike Group, in the area of responsibility of the North American country's Central Command, which includes the Middle East.
Since March 15, the United States has launched a series of attacks against the northern and central regions of Yemen, a country in the southwest of the Arabian Peninsula, whose areas are under the control of the Houthis, against whom President Donald Trump ordered decisive military action, after they renewed their attacks on ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea, in response to the blockade of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip.
