Franklin Cardillo: Venezuelans participate in peace in the 2025 Community Games

The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, expressed his great satisfaction during the opening ceremony of the III National Community Games, held at the October 9 gymnasium in the city of Mérida for the “massive participation of millions of Venezuelans in this sporting event”.

“More than one and a half million girls, boys, grandparents, grandmothers and women from our communities participated in the first intercommunal phase, while for this national phase there are 6,000 athletes competing to form part of the national sports reserve in these 20 strategic sports,” said the president of the National Sports Institute.

Cardillo emphasized that these millions of Venezuelans have been participating in the Games in a Venezuela “full of peace, tranquility and dedicated to our full activities throughout the national territory.”

The minister stressed that these Community Games were developed by the more than 4,700 communes that participated in 27 disciplines throughout the national territory.

He also stressed that this event “aims to improve the lifestyle of our people and the quality of life through physical activity, sports and recreation.”

In addition, he explained that another of the essential aspects of the Community Games is “taking our boys and girls away from those computer, telephone and television screens to bring them to practice physical activity and sports.”

In the same way, the participation of older adults in physical activity classes led, controlled and evaluated by sports instructors, which will be awarded at the Games, was highlighted.
