The governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, in telephone
contact with the radio program Sin Truco ni Maña, recalled that the
right wing used the Venezuelan military and abandoned them after their
failure on February 23, 2019, in the Battle of the Shops.
“Those traitors, sadly for them, went to Colombia
and abandoned them, put them in hotels and after a month they were no longer giving them food and
they were protesting,” Bernal said.
In that sense, he reiterated that the right wing convinced
some soldiers and made them lose their careers, and then abandon them.
He also recognized the combative attitude of the Venezuelan people
who mobilized to the border with Colombia, in February 2019, to prevent
an invasion of the territory.
“The People are the ones who transmit strength to you and reaffirm that what is at stake is the Fatherland,” added the governor.
