With great joy and emotion, in an environment full of colors, lights, dances, creativity and brotherhood, the exhibition Mural City opened last Saturday in homage to Leopoldo Espinoza Prieto, as part of the International Festival of Muralism, in the historic center of La Asunción in the state of Nueva Esparta.

The activity was accompanied by the deputy to the National Assembly, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, who stressed that this exhibition reflects the identity of the people of Margarita, according to a note from the PSUV.

“As a Caracas native, I can tell you that I have received the love of the town of La Asunción, of Margarita in these murals. I am leaving with that feeling that they managed to transmit to me through art, music, history, culture, art and the roots that make us call ourselves Margariteños, Neo-Spartans, Venezuelans,” he said.

In addition, the governor of Nueva Esparta, Marisel Velásquez, who also accompanied the inauguration, extended her congratulations to the artists; and invited them to return to the entity to capture their art in the different municipalities that make up the state.

“Then we will go to Mariño, to the Macanao Peninsula. Here, each municipality has a history and it is truly a pleasure to invite them and, without a doubt, some of our brother Nicolás Ernesto will accompany us to make this a reality, because Margarita deserves it,” he said.

This initiative is part of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela Mi Patria Querida, aimed at strengthening the sense of belonging and promoting artistic talent in public spaces. The festival seeks to consolidate itself as a platform for creative exchange, where mural art becomes a tool for community expression and tourism revitalization .
