An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred this Tuesday in western Venezuela at 11:14 local time (15:14 GMT), according to the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (FUNVISIS).

The epicenter was located in the state of Zulia, in the northwest of the country, with a depth of 10.2 kilometers.

So far, authorities have reported no casualties or significant damage.

FUNVISIS maintains surveillance in the area and urges the population to follow preventive measures.
