Genesis Horta and Diana Maestre secured medals in the world boxing championship in Montenegro

Venezuelan fighters Genesis Horta and Diana Maestre achieved triumphs over their rivals, Romanian Valentina Morosanu and Mexico's Dulce García, respectively, during the quarterfinal round and secure bronze medals at the World Youth Boxing Championship, held in Budva, Montenegro.

Horta, from the 54-kilogram rooster category, forcefully hit his contender from Moronasu, with strong hooks and straights on the right and left, he managed to get the referee to stop the actions and decree the RSC (Referee Suspende Combat) in the same first round, to advance to the semifinals of the division, MinDeporte press reports.

For his part, Maestre “La Flecha”, from the featherweight division (57 kilograms), took an unobjectionable decision from the judges 5-0, about Garcia.

This Thursday, October 31, the fighter Horta will face the representative of Russia. While Maestre is waiting for the name of her contender for Friday, November 1st.
