Government of La Guaira announces that beaches will be open until 4:00pm

The tourist areas of the central coast of La Guaira will operate under strictly regulated access hours. The Beach Tourism Chamber reported that access to beaches, rivers and spas will only be allowed from 7:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon, at which time these sites will be generally closed.

According to the official statement released by the tourism union, the measure seeks to exercise greater control over the use of coastal recreational spaces. The authorities made an express call to citizens and tourists to comply with this provision in a “responsible and respectful” manner.

The new schedule implies a significant change in the dynamics of visiting the region's beaches, which are traditionally frequented until the wee hours of the afternoon. Beach workers reported that this measure will be active for the duration of the national shock decree.
