Government of La Guaira celebrated the triumph of César Leal at the World Astronomy Olympiad in Russia

The Educational Center for Science Teaching in the state of La Guaira was the setting to honor the young Guairian Cesar Leal, after winning First Place in the Open World Astronomy Olympiad held in Russia.

Leal was selected from among more than seven thousand young people to prepare and represent Venezuela, along with six other colleagues, in the world of astronomy, and won a gold medal with honorable mention, reported the Government of La Guaira, on its account of the social network Instagram.

“It was quite exciting what I felt when they told me my result; even so, there is still a lot to do, but this basis is essential so that later on we do want to carry out experienced scientific research in the area. It's good to start from scratch to promote that interest in astronomy, in physics and in all these sciences,” he said.

In this regard, the governor of the entity, José Alejandro Terán, stated that the Semillero de la Patria is building a brilliant future in science, technology and innovation with the purpose of contributing to the future of the Great Homeland.

For her part, the president of the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (FUNDACITE), Jiraleska Hernández, stressed that this is a successful policy to awaken the vocations of boys and girls who seek to develop different areas in a coherent and purposeful way.

“In the year and six months that we have in space, in the state of La Guaira we have served more than 10,000 young people in training processes in different areas of knowledge, from physics, chemistry, mathematics and robotics. And today, the result of that seed of love, of knowledge, of commitment, we are celebrating with these young people, who are the young Semillero de la Patria,” he said.
