Governor Luis Caldera: In Zulia, the crime rate fell 33% during 2025

The crime rate in the state of Zulia in 2025 decreased by 33% compared to 2024, according to figures from the Venezuelan Security Observatory.

The information was released this Tuesday, January 6, during the first meeting of the Unified Security Command chaired by the governor of Zulia, Luis Caldera together with the commander of the Zulia Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI-Zulia), G/D Javier Magallanes.

“Satisfactorily, when we analyze the crime rate in Zulia in 2025, we have a 33% decrease in all crimes in the region compared to 2024 and 59% compared to 2023,” he explained.

The regional president stressed that the governing body for comprehensive defense is active together with all institutions, receiving instructions from the President in charge, all State institutions and the political high command in these conditions of external threat.

The mission of the Unified Command is to analyze and evaluate all the actions carried out in a popular-military-police union for the protection of the people and to guarantee peace and stability.

The meeting was attended by all the heads of the region's military units, directors of the national, regional and municipal police, as well as the entire civil defense system.
