The Governor of Trujillo State, Gerardo
Márquez, announced that six municipalities in the region are severely
affected by the rains that have occurred in recent days, with Boconó and Campo Elías being the most affected.
During a visit to Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Márquez explained that there are 19 fronts of
work that comprehensively serve the population and emphasized that he has been
in permanent contact with President Nicolás Maduro and with the entire
Executive Train, who have been put in order for whatever is needed.
“We can say that we have control of the situation,” he said and indicated that they are already working to solve the edge faults.
In that sense, he argued that surely today (
June 25) there will be passage on most roads. “On the Niquitao road to Las Mesitas,
which is the most productive area in the Boconó municipality, the entire government's infrastructure team is working to open
the road as soon as possible.”
On the other hand, the mayor of the Boconó municipality, Alejandro García, explained that they have had ground obstructions, collapses, edge faults, which are already being addressed.
“The national, regional and municipal government teams, civil
protection and firefighters are deployed to serve the population in a comprehensive
manner, in the face of the onslaught of nature,” he reiterated.
