The governor of the state of Lara, Adolfo Pereira, pointed to groups orchestrated by extremist opposition leaders as causing the events that have been taking place in the state. At the same time, he rejected the violent and vandalistic acts that occurred in the Larense region by the fascist right regarding the presidential elections held last Sunday.
“We categorically reject the looting of commercial establishments that ruin the country's economic and social growth; and that harm the efforts and dedication of small, large businessmen and entrepreneurs,” the government's press release states.
In the violent events, a motorcycle belonging to the Lara State Police and a PNB road unit that was in service on Ribereña Avenue, specifically in the Macuto sector, were also burned by fascist groups.
