Governor Terán announces completion of construction of the Puerto Cruz aqueduct

The construction of the Puerto Cruz aqueduct has been completed and is in the testing phase, after two years of construction and replacement of pipes that will allow 300 liters of water to be collected per second. This was announced by the Governor of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán.

“We have completed the construction of the Puerto Cruz aqueduct and it will allow us to capture 300 liters of water per second. In a second phase, we are going to add 200 more for a total of 500, which added to Chichiriviche's 300 would be 800 l/s,” said Governor Terán.

The announcement was made during the inspection of the works of the aeration system in Mirabal, Catia La Mar parish, where he indicated that more than 40 million liters of water per day would be incorporated into the Hidrocapital distribution network, “thanks to the support of President Nicolás Maduro and the Minister of Water Care , Carlos Marts, and with our work crews .”

He stressed that this aqueduct had two years of continuous work, where maneuvers were carried out in mountainous and maritime areas, for the transfer, installation and construction of pipes, as well as tests.

The construction of the aeration system of the Mirabal — La Páez mini aqueduct, located in the facilities of the Caracas Storage Unit in the Catia La Mar parish, Governor Terán said during the inspection of the works, adding that the works will allow the purification of the sector's 7 deep water wells.

“In four weeks at the latest, the construction of this plant would be completed, to make way for the distribution of water already processed and purified to the entire community of La Lucha, Las Angustias, part of Atlántida and to the entire community of Mirabal and La Páez,” said Terán.

Lourdes González, a resident of the community of Mirabal, explained that this aerification system will purify a large part of the minerals in the water from the wells, “it will provide us with a better service for general consumption and to purify the water”.
