The works being carried out at the Maternal and Child Hospital in Macuto, La Guaira state, are progressing, which include the progressive construction of four new operating rooms, as part of the recovery of the health infrastructure in the coastal entity, following the earthquakes of last June 24.

In this regard, the governor of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, together with the state's single health authority, Nelare Bermúdez, supervised the progress of these tasks, which have already reached 75% of construction.

The tour was part of the agenda for supervising the works being carried out in the public hospital network of La Guaira, in coordination with the Ministry of Popular Power for Health; the Ministry of Public Works and the Together Everything Is Possible Program, aimed at ensuring safer and more functional spaces for the care of the population.

The authorities highlighted the commitment of the medical, nursing, administrative and labor personnel who have remained in charge of care during the contingency.

Despite the damage caused by the earthquake, the Macuto Maternal and Child Hospital is keeping its main care services active. Currently, the areas of pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, nutrition, pediatric surgery and neonatology remain operational.
