Governor Terán: Pariata Hospital will reopen in five days after achieving 90% recovery

The governor of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, this Thursday, August 27, reported that the rehabilitation of the Rafael Medina Jiménez Pariata Hospital achieved 90% progress in the recovery of its infrastructure and its surgical and hospitalization services will be fully reactivated in the coming days.

During an inspection of the structure affected after the double earthquake of last June 24, he stated that the rehabilitation, which totals 63 days of continuous work, covers the five floors of the healthcare center, including traumatology, intensive care, intensive care and surgery services, in addition to the comprehensive recovery of two operating rooms.

The tasks carried out include the replacement of the ductwork in the air conditioning systems, the recovery of masonry, the installation of ceramics and the adaptation of specialized areas.

As part of the recovery, Pariata will also incorporate a hemodynamics unit.

Terán assured that the teams will arrive in approximately two weeks to begin their installation, which will allow cardiovascular and cerebrovascular emergencies to be treated for the first time in this public hospital, reducing the need for transfers to Caracas.

“We don't stop, we continue to serve all our people,” he said, highlighting the continuity of health care during the recovery process.

The rehabilitation plan also includes four new operating rooms in the Macuto Maternal and Child Hospital. In Carayaca, the Eudoro González Hospital has already been fully recovered, as has the Catia La Mar Popular Clinic, while interventions are progressing in health centers in Naiguatá.
