This Wednesday, February 14, the governor of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, reported that there were no negative incidents in the state during these 2024 Happy Carnivals, in which locals and seasonal workers were able to enjoy a wide variety of recreational, sports and cultural activities.

“There was no negative impact on the state, there were only going to be three dives, but thanks to the early action of the security agencies, we were able to rescue the three people immediately and all this was very positive,” Terán said during the balance of the Happy Carnival 2024.

In this regard, he explained that within the framework of the Mostacho Fest, seven concerts were held in the entity. In turn, he indicated that the traditional parade of floats was held, accompanied by costume contests in each community.

He highlighted that through the community carnival, more than 3,000 piñatas were distributed for the fun and enjoyment of the boys and girls of the entity. “We carry out all these traditions to accompany our people on these carnival dates,” he said.

He reaffirmed that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, with the impetus of all these activities, continues to guarantee the right to recreation of all the people of Venezuela. In turn, he specified that thanks to these festivities more than 70,000 families benefited, since they live directly from the beach trade.

In the same way, he reiterated his congratulations to the state security forces who guaranteed the peace and tranquility of the people on these dates. “I ask for applause for these citizens,” he said.

In addition, he emphasized that these carnivals were special, thanks to the triumph of the Tiburones de La Guaira in the Caribbean series. “Those who arrived on Carnival Sunday and were part of the floats; and more than 200,000 people in the streets filled with joy and love welcomed them,” he said.
