The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, reported that a plan is currently being developed, through the Great Mission Back to the Fatherland (GMVP), to remotely serve compatriots who are abroad.
The information was released during an interview on the program Here and Now on La Iguana TV, he explained that this measure is due to the fact that in some countries there are no Venezuelan diplomatic personnel.
In this regard, he sent a message of solidarity and commitment to compatriots around the world on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reminding them that “they are not alone and have the full support of their Government”.
Gil added that “hundreds of thousands of requests” have been received from Venezuelans who want to return to the country, while almost “a million have already returned in recent years - like two, three years - and have been assisted by Vuelta a la Patria.”
He indicated that such requests are due to the “economic, political and social stability improvement” that has occurred despite economic and financial sanctions.
“We are in a wonderful time, we are in a stellar moment in our economy, where we all have to get involved and support each other,” he said.
