This Wednesday, Greek public and private sector workers are holding a 24-hour general strike to demand wage increases from the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and immediate measures to lower commodity prices.

The day was announced by the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) last Monday through a statement, in which it called on all workers, pensioners, the unemployed, women and young people to participate massively in the strike, but also in the protest demonstration that same day at 11:00 (local time) in Klathmonos Square.

During the mobilization, personnel from public hospitals and the National First Aid Center (EKAV), teachers and teachers, judicial officials, as well as employees of ministries and fiscal authorities participate. It is estimated that around 12,000 people are taking part in strike demonstrations.
