In a
statement, the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations condemned
the aggression perpetrated last Saturday, January 03, by the government of the
United States (USA) against Venezuela.
“The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter
of the United Nations condemns in the most unequivocal and categorical way the act
of aggression perpetrated on January 3, 2026 against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by special forces
of the United States of America,
which included armed attacks against civilian and military objectives in the capital
city of Caracas, as well as in other cities in the Venezuelan territory”,
highlights the text shared by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, through
from his Telegram channel.
It also rejected the illegal kidnapping of the
President and First Lady of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás
Maduro Moros and Her Excellency Mrs. Cilia Flores de Maduro.
For this reason, the “Member States of the
Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations demand the
immediate cessation of all hostilities against the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, full respect for sovereignty” and territorial integrity;
as well as the immediate return of the Head of State and his wife.
