Group of Friends of the UN condemns constant attacks on Syrian cities

The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations condemns in the strongest terms the large-scale terrorist attacks carried out by the terrorist organization Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, also known as Jabhat al-Nusra, and its affiliates, against the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib, in the Syrian Arab Republic.

This was announced by the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel, who also stressed that this group reiterated its deep concern about the continuous attempts to ignite and blow up the Middle East region, which will have devastating consequences for regional and international peace, security and stability.

In a letter published from New York City, the United States expressed their unwavering support for the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as its legitimate right to combat international terrorism.

In addition, they reaffirmed their categorical rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, while reiterating that all acts of terrorism, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomever they are committed, are criminal, unjustifiable and represent clear violations of the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and international law. They also condemned any attempt to cover up or justify the actions of terrorist groups in the Syrian Arab Republic.

They also urged the United Nations Security Council, aware of its primary responsibility to maintain international peace and security, to express its strong condemnation of terrorism.
