The deputy political leader of Hamas, Jalil al-Haya, stated that “Yahya Sinwar was martyred fighting on the front line. He was always a pioneer on the fronts, never backing down and constantly moving along the battle lines.”

“We mourn for the great leader, the martyr Yahya Sinwar (...) who died as a martyr hero, wielding his weapon, fighting and confronting the occupying army until the last moment of his life,” said al-Haya according to a publication published by Hispantv.

He added that after the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar was released from Israeli prisons, “he continued with his mission, even planning and leading the great battle 'Al-Aqsa Storm'. His martyrdom joins the caravan of honorable martyrs and follows the path of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, founder of Hampas”.
