The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during his participation in the VIII Summit of Heads of State of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) held in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, proposed creating a commission of this body and of the General Secretariat of the United Nations to accompany the presidential elections to be held this year in Venezuela.

He stressed that Venezuela has a tradition over the last 25 years of electoral processes and consultations with the people, always in accordance with the Bolivarian National Constitution and yet, in the international media, it is only said that a tyranny rules in this nation, with Nicolás Maduro as dictator.

“It is a permanent campaign against Venezuela to try to justify the unjustifiable, war and military intervention, but they don't mean that this week the so-called Comprehensive Agreement of Caracas was signed with 43 political parties from all over the national spectrum, all social movements, workers and business federations, all religious, cultural and intellectual currents, which establishes the basis for full guarantees for a totally transparent process,” said the President national.

In this regard, he asked the representatives of the member countries of CELAC and the general secretariat of the United Nations (UN) to evaluate sending a delegation to join the process of preparing, holding and holding the next presidential election from this day until the date set by the National Electoral Council for this electoral process.

“Venezuela is preparing for absolutely reliable, transparent elections with an electoral system that I would like CELAC to know, and to be able to spread beyond manipulation, misrepresentation and lies,” he said.
