Head of State: Banana coup was organized by surnames that disguise themselves as democrats

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, maintained that the Bolivarian Revolution has faced and defeated various adverse circumstances, in order to defend the Venezuelan people and because it represents the most historic and just cause that “has never been defended in this land in 200 years.”

“It is the cause of justice, equality and socialism as the destiny of humanity,” he stressed when referring to the attempted coup d'etat, better known as the banana coup perpetrated by the extremist right on April 30, 2019.

He pointed out that the event occurred five years ago “with the same last names, who disguise themselves as democrats when some elections come, but inside, the disguise that goes is the true face of fascism, hate, coup”.

He recalled that the People had previously prepared for any eventuality, since they were aware of the conspiracy plans, that if strange situations of violence occurred that attempted a coup d'etat, they would proceed with “nerves of steel, calm and sanity and maximum popular mobilization and civic-military-police union”.

This was highlighted in the Urban Planning Park Habita El Ingenio in the municipality of Zamora, in the state of Miranda, where it awarded the milestone of 4,900,000 homes, as part of the 13th Anniversary of the Great Venezuela Housing Mission (GMVV).

“Defending the Homeland is the greatest thing, defending the right to peace, if we have peace in Venezuela today it's because the people won it,” he said.
