The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, warned this Monday that messaging applications are used for espionage and violent actions, which is why he reiterated his firm stance against technological dependence on foreign suppliers.

The National President assured that he supports application and social network projects that share an independence vision in terms of communications.

During the 84th edition of his Con Maduro+ program, he highlighted the recent Russian initiative to develop messaging to consolidate its technological autonomy.

“Bye WhatsApp, go WhatsApp, I don't want you WhatsApp, go, this tool spies on the lives of its users and has been used to massacre the Palestinian people,” said the President.

He added that it is through WhatsApp that Israeli supremacists locate and launch missiles to kill people in Palestine and Iran. In addition, he stated that they also used it to kill scientists in Iran, scientists who were doing research in physics, mathematics. “Until when WhatsApp!” , he said.

He also stated that technological autonomy is relevant to national sovereignty. “We are working to obtain a secure communication system that is not used for spying and less for killing,” he said.
