The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Thursday, October 16, emphasized that the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles is a triumph of Venezuelan values and unity.
At the closing ceremony of the National Congress of Chefs and Chefs of the Homeland, from the Bicentennial Hall of the Miraflores Complex, in Caracas, as part of the celebration for World Food Day, he held a satellite interaction with the team of journalists from Venezolana Television (VTV), Boris Castellanos and María Gabriela Rodríguez, who are in Vatican City, covering protocol events with reason for the forthcoming canonization of the abovementioned blesseds.
He described the canonizations as a “historic event, from a cultural, spiritual and human point of view”.
“We are a people of wise men, saints, warriors, patriots, hardworking, decent people. The People of Venezuela are not the Aragua Train. The People of Venezuela are the people of work, of values,” he stressed.
He also recalled his visit to Pope Francis at the Vatican in 2013, to intercede for the canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández before the Catholic Church.
He specified that after 77 years of waiting, the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández will take place next Sunday, the 19th.
