The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles is a spiritual festival for Venezuela, right now that it is being stalked and threatened by the greatest military power in history, such as North American imperialism.

Venezuela is celebrating union, reconciliation, peace and deep prayer,” he said.

In the Digital Zone segment of the Con Maduro+ program, during broadcast number 93, he said that “José Gregorio comes with his message and his smile of hope, to bring blessings that reach deeply”.

“All Venezuelans are united around this canonization, of a holy man and woman (...) If there is a holy, noble, peaceful, decent, hardworking people, it is the People of Venezuela,” he emphasized.

He said that the Christian faith about José Gregorio Hernández goes beyond Venezuelan borders, because in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Panama, Mexico, the United States and the Canary Islands, there are also parishioners who deeply believe in his miracles.

He also stressed that there have been 70 years of struggle to achieve the canonization of Saint José Gregorio Hernández, the doctor of the poor.
