The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, asserted that until the Technical Office of the United Nations (UN) “rectifies and asks for public apology, they will not return to the country.” This was stated during his Con Maduro+ program this Monday, February 19.
“They will not return, let's hope it rectifies (...) Until that office respects the letter of the United Nations, does not respect the independence and sovereignty of Venezuela, it will not return to the country,” emphasized the Head of State.
He said that the Technical Advisory Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Venezuela, “ became what we call a law firm for Venezuelan terrorists, conspirators, coup plotters and magnicides.”
He argued that “the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is faithful in compliance, because if there is a country that fulfills all its commitments to the United Nations, it is Venezuela”
“We are founders of the United Nations Human Rights Council, we have participated elected by the votes of the United Nations countries, we are the promoters of the global defense of human rights,” he said.
Last Thursday, the Bolivarian Government decided to suspend the activities of this office and consequently expel the officials of the organization, a fact that took place on Saturday, February 17.
