The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that the extremist right seeks to destroy the ideological, moral and spiritual strength of the Venezuelan people, by burning the symbols of the Fatherland.

He specified that it is violence and hatred that really exists behind the deliberate objective of extremists to affect the symbols of the Homeland such as the statues of notable Venezuelan figures.

“They wanted to frighten the people, and they threatened them with WhatsApp messages,” he said.

He also recalled that this violence was caused by “it is the same people who flipped the flag years ago, and the same people who painted it black, who remove the star from our Essequiva Guiana”.

This was highlighted in Plaza Bolívar-Chávez, in the state of La Guaira, where he unveiled the Statue of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías.

On the new statue, the Bolivarian leader is an act of vindication against the violent and savage acts of criminals hired by extremists to tear down statues of several representative figures of Venezuela.

He assured that the extremist right demonstrates its fear of the figure of Commander Chávez and that is why it demolishes his statues.

“Why so much hatred against the symbols of the Fatherland? What are they still afraid of Hugo Chávez? Why are they trying to get back at Hugo Chávez? ”, he asked, once again dismissing fascist violence.
