This Wednesday afternoon, the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, held a press conference for international media in which he asserted that he “wants the Constitution to be respected.”

In his words, he stated that “I went to the Supreme Court of Justice so that the electoral room can proceed to resolve the electoral dispute of Sunday, July 28 and clarify, from the point of view of technical, legal and institutional expertise and Venezuelan laws, the events of July 28 and later so that I can establish with absolute clarity and legal judgment the definitive results that give me as the winner of the election, including all the steps and audits that were carried out”.

In that vein, he added that all the audits were done but the sabotage of the electronic transmission system created a situation as we have configured the coup d'etat against the electoral process.

The Head of State added that everything is clear in the constitution. “I have placed myself at the command to be submitted to any interrogation, subpoena, investigation that is required.”
