The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, asserted that in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, “he commands, directs and governs ExxonMobil and the Southern Command”, referring to the difficulty in resolving the controversy between this nation and Venezuela, over the Essequibo territory.
During the broadcast of the 34th edition of the program “With Maduro+ “, he emphasized that in Guyana “President Irfaan Ali does not govern, he does not govern. He's just there.”
In this regard, the National President stressed that sooner rather than later the Geneva Agreement, which recently celebrated its 58th anniversary, “will prevail and only through the Geneva Agreement will Venezuela's sovereign rights over the Essequibo be restored.”
“We are men of peace, but we have a People, we have the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the Civic-Military Union to defend what is ours when it has to be defended,” he ratified.
