Head of State: Long live the untamed energy of our ancestors!

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the strength of indigenous peoples, in order to commemorate this Saturday 535 years of the resistance of the original peoples against the invaders of the Spanish Empire.

“These are more than 500 years of resistance, struggle and rebellion of indigenous peoples against the invading hosts of the Spanish empire, and today we pay tribute from the streets, mobilized, to the glorious legacy of #GigantesInmortales. Without the spiritual strength of our grandparents and grandmothers in Africa, it would have been impossible to accumulate the will that the People had when they formed the Liberation Army to tour America for the #Emancipación,” wrote the president on his Telegram channel.

He also warned that “the power of our aborigines has been vindicated for the future, thanks to Commander Chávez, so we are committed to the battle of #PatriaGrande, deep down, to decolonize education, culture, soul and historical narrative. Long live the untamed energy of our ancestors! My greetings and a big hug sisters and brothers!”
