This Monday, June 20, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said that he supports the campaign that promotes the resignation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, “is politicized, biased and an agenda contrary to Human Rights.”
In this regard, he affirmed that this instance “responds to the interests of Washington and of the European elites against the countries of the Global South.”
He said this when referring to the rejection by the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) of the aforementioned report as infamous, “I think prosecutor Saab is hitting the nail on the head, because he has been denouncing the absolute degradation of the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.”
In the Digital Zone segment, of the 84th edition of his program “With Maduro+”, he stated that the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, is doing justice by denouncing the omission of the UN High Commissioner.
The head of state stressed that this UN Office “has been totally kidnapped and tied up, partialized by Mr. Volker Türk”.
He also emphasized that he has ignored the kidnapping of 252 Venezuelans in El Salvador, of 18 Venezuelan boys and girls in the United States. It also ignores the murder of innocents in Palestine.
