Head of State presented balance sheet of damage caused by heavy rains in the region of Los Andes

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, reported that during Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25, there was a 300% increase in rainfall activity in the Venezuelan Andes.

He specified that this scourge of nature caused the collapse of 25 bridges, of which 16 have suffered total loss and the rest partial. In addition, 370 homes have been affected, with a total loss of 110, while 151 are at high risk and 116 partially affected.

During the presentation of the balance of actions, the Head of State instructed that all areas that are at high risk must be removed; which is why he has requested the support of all Community Councils, communes, Community Circuits , for the verification of the Risk Maps of their neighborhoods and communities, in order to seek a structural solution for each home.

He noted that as a result of the fall of bridges and carts, 8,456 families have been isolated and 8,826 families have been affected.
