Head of State relaunches University of the Communes

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, relaunched the University of the Communes project as part of the commemoration of the 12th anniversary of the Timon Coup, announced by Commander Hugo Chávez in October 2012.

From his Con Maduro+ program, he said that “ training for this empowerment must start with children, in schools, in high schools”, which is why he included in this work team the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of University Education.

The Head of State joyfully announced the relaunch of the University of the Communes, as a “leadership training center for community members. We are setting up a national headquarters (...) We must build socialism in the territorial sphere, but that it starts, that it does not become bureaucratized. Before creating a new bureaucracy, it is necessary to define the project well. A university of the communes to train citizens”.
