Head of State: Simon Bolivar became the great Liberating leader of the Peoples of this world

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, assured that Simon Bolivar became the great Liberating leader of the Peoples of this world, “an example, reference and inspiration for all who want and aspire to equality, justice and Homeland.”

In this regard, the head of state recalled that “these are 300 years of slavery, colonialism, looting, abuse, 300 years of resistance, first of all, of our glorious original peoples, the Caribbean Indians and of all of America”.

“Then our grandparents and grandmothers, who arrived on slave ships from Africa and brought us drums, joy and rebellion and joined the fight with all their strength against libertarian rebellions,” he said.

This was stated in the Courtyard of Honor of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army in Caracas, on the occasion of the Bicentenary of the award of the Sword of Peru to the Liberator Simon Bolivar, in recognition of his victories in the Battles of Junín and Ayacucho against Spanish imperialism.

The head of state emphasized that the Sword of the Liberator Simon Bolivar “is alive, walking through Latin America and fighting in the streets with the Peoples for the new and true independence of the 21st century.”
