The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the extremist opposition sector believes that by collapsing the statues of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Commander Hugo Chávez, “they are ending Chávez, and he became a people.”

“Chávez is more alive than ever and in combat. Chávez Vive,” he emphasized.

In this regard, he reported that “all the criminals who knocked down the statues of Chávez in La Guaira, in Coro and in Los Teques, were captured” are in prison. They are imprisoned and will continue to be punished with all the rigor of justice and the law.”

“Respect for history, for the law,” he said.

He made the statement when referring to the fact that this Tuesday, July 30, “a historic day of struggle for peace, stability and tranquility in Venezuela, this beautiful march of this rainy afternoon coincided with two historic dates.”

In this regard, he specified that on July 30, 2000, he was elected with the new Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic, the first President, Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez, “it is 24 years since that victory.”

“Honor and Glory to Hugo Chávez”, he said from the People's Balcony in the Miraflores Palace, where he received the revolutionary political forces in the company of the Chavista people, who traveled from Petare, Catia, La Vega and El Valle to celebrate the victory and defend the peace of the Republic.
