The President of the Republic thanked the presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva; of Colombia, Gustavo Petro and of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the joint declaration in which they defend the sovereignty of Venezuela.

President Lula da Silva, (Gustavo) Petro and (Andrés) López Obrador, are actively working to make the United States respect Venezuela and not do what it is doing, they released a very good statement yesterday, I congratulate them,” said the Head of State during a press conference with international media from the Miraflores Palace.

He also criticized Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States, for precipitating the statement against the government of Nicolás Maduro in response to the joint statement by Lula, Petro and López that sought to prevent harm to Venezuela.

“Two hours after the presidents of Brazil, Colombia and Mexico spoke out, it was the statement of (Antony) Blinken that what he did was respond to the sovereign declaration of these three Latin American countries to defend Venezuela, that's why Blinken comes out,” said Maduro.
